We'll begin near the site of first settlement and visit the oldest gravesite in Morristown. You'll learn where the early settlers came from, why they chose Morristown, and gain insight into their daily lives.

Trace the transition of Morristown from a rural hamlet to a millionaire's sanctuary rivaling Newport. We'll stroll past elegant Victorian mansions and Romanesque churches built by war heroes, industrialists, congressmen, and a ground-breaking cartoonist, as well as the tenement houses and livery stables next door that made it all possible.

Our guided 2 mile walking tour of historic Morristown, New Jersey will focus on the development and impact of Morristown from it's settlement in the early 1700s through the early 20th century. Morristown's location between New York City and Philadelphia gave it a pivotal role during the American Revolution.  Over the next century, its location between the resource and agricultural riches to the west and population centers to the east put Morristown at the crossroads of commerce and wealth.
